Hi, I just got a 26G tank and had to move my guppies from the 6G...but one of the male guppies got hurted badly (I tried my best, had no idea where the wound come from). His tail fins is now broken and kinda splitted into two

I feel so bad about this and I just wondering if he would recover soon... would guppies repair their own broken fins?
hm...I wish at least he wouldn't die becuase of that (feel so guilty of buying a new tank . The good thing is he's still eating, so would he be fine?

Thanks alot in advance!

I think the fins of most fish will heal on their own, given time. Just make sure it eats, and none of the other fish attack the wounded fin.

Ya.. I added MelaFix already...what else I could do tho? there's prolly no other fish would nip his fins (only got blue emperor tetras, cardinals, otocinclus and guppies in tank now)

Shoulod I do water change more frequently to prevent infection on the wound? or should I just let the fishes rest and get used to the new tank?

Thanks again!

I would just do a water change every week, and let the fish heal normally.

Yes, they can heal them on their own.
Melafix & water changes will quicker the process.
