The coral reds here are white front with red back end. The coral blues are red back end with a blueish white front end. Xiphophorus Variatus, and the folks at the stores need a more exciting yet simple name for the fish. So you have names like "Coral Blue Platy" instead of just "blue platy", or "Sunset Coral Platy" instead of "Yellow with Red tail Platy". Lol! You get the point. It's gotta be a marketing gimick that caught on and now everyone is using "Coral" in the color variations. "Talk is cheap. Action can be almost as affordable" |

They just change the common names if the fish don't sell as well for a little while. They make up something that seems more exciting and suddenly people just -have- to have this 'new fish' they've never seen before. I've only noticed this with livebearers so far. Sometimes regular customers will buy them and I -know- I sold them a fish that looks just like the one they bought last week, but they won't realize it 'til they get home. =/ If they even do then. I swear, some of these people don't pay -any- attention. ______________ Cake or death? |
