So current I save some baby guppies that weren't hunted down by my angels . It's been almost 2 months and female and males differences are showing. I currently put the female in a breeding net hoping the males won't impregnat them in such an early stage. From my last 2 batches females that get pregnated too early tend to have spinal issues eg. defomred spnial cord (when thier tails are not straight; wiggled tails). This is what I conclude. Correct me if I'm wrong plz
Now my question is that if those females are in the breeding net, can the males still pregnat my females? Currently the males don't go near the breeding net, but I'm still concerned.

TIA

in short... yes young breeding can cause a host of problems for both the offspring and the mother...

its best to wait until the fish is full grown to breed..

and also, if the females are seperated, theres no way they can "get" pregnant, unless they went into the net pregnant. these type of fish actually physically procreate. by seperating, makes it impossible....

she is right, if their are no males in the breeding net and they have no access either by a rip in the net or jumping in, they shouldn't be able to fert them,

and yes breeding small females stunt their growth rate, and health problems.
