It's my first time with livebearers & i want to keep the colours of the fish. So i don't want any crossbreeding & things like that. At the moment i have Swordtails & Mollies together. Maybe i add some Guppy's as well, but i'm not sure. I think that i'll keep the Platies on their own or maybe with the Guppy's. What do you think truestar?. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

I think it would be okay to have swordtails, mollies, and guppies together as long as the tank is big enough and you can deal with the fry. From what I've found it seems that platies and swordtails can crossbreed, as well as endlers and guppies, so keep them separated and you shouldn't get any crossbreeding. I don't know, but to me it seems that if you have opposite genders of each species they would probably not crossbreed as much. Just a thought though, don't know if it's true or not. |

I will be keeping the Platies with the Guppys & right now, i have the Swordtails with the Mollies. I think this is the best way to keep them & don't have any unwanted offsprings. http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
