Hello I needed to know how long endlers stay prego for??

This certain fish has had babys before, but I don't remember it taking so long.

I think it is going to be soon though she is so big her spine is "s'ing"......

Livebearers will usually drop their fry when they feel comfortable. It varies, but it is usually every 3-4 weeks. Good luck with the babies, just be patient, i assure you they will come soon, and usually when you least expect it!

I believe tht Endlers stay pregnant about the same amount of time as guppies do...that being 28-32 days roughly...be patient, her time will come and be expecting a lot of fry

You will notice that when she is the day or so before delivery she will start staying closer to the bottom of the tank, and trying to hide in plants...best of luck heidi michelle

If you are worried she is holding too long you can induce labor with a large water change and increasing the tank temperature 1-2 degrees. If she is near her time she will drop the babies.

I am kinda worried, like I said it seems alot longer then the last time. I don't want to induce labour, I would be so afraid that I just didn't pay attention to how long it really was.

I did increase the temp by only one degree.

What is your opinion on what I should do????

Thanks

the water changes and temperature change just make her feel better about labor. It is playing with the fish's instincts. They see the rainy season and the warmer waters as a really good time to have fry. Food is plentiful that time of year. Some species have to go through those temperature changes and water parameter changes just to breed. If she is not ready to drop she won't so no harm done. Endlers actually prefer their water a little warmer anyways 81 degrees is what mine are kept at.
