Good luck with the babies, just be patient, i assure you they will come soon, and usually when you least expect it! |

houston Fish Guru You want what when? Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 | I believe tht Endlers stay pregnant about the same amount of time as guppies do...that being 28-32 days roughly...be patient, her time will come and be expecting a lot of fry You will notice that when she is the day or so before delivery she will start staying closer to the bottom of the tank, and trying to hide in plants...best of luck heidi michelle "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." If she is near her time she will drop the babies. Koi Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn. |

I don't want to induce labour, I would be so afraid that I just didn't pay attention to how long it really was. I did increase the temp by only one degree. What is your opinion on what I should do???? Thanks Angel Eel |

koi keeper Moderator Posts: 3203 Kudos: 2033 Votes: 240 Registered: 29-Dec-2001 | the water changes and temperature change just make her feel better about labor. It is playing with the fish's instincts. They see the rainy season and the warmer waters as a really good time to have fry. Food is plentiful that time of year. Some species have to go through those temperature changes and water parameter changes just to breed. If she is not ready to drop she won't so no harm done. Endlers actually prefer their water a little warmer anyways 81 degrees is what mine are kept at. Koi Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn. |
