I have finally set up my 10 gallon and have it cycling with a sponge filter and fish food. I was thinking about the addition of a golden claw crab, I had one in a community aquarium a while back and liked them. He wasn't very successful at catching anything except what died, plus I think the fry will be too small anyway. Do you think they will be ok? I have a 29 with the guppys I plan to breed; will be moving the females to the 10 to give birth. There are also 2 babies that have gotten quite big and are pretty adventurous now. I have alot of overflow room for the fry when they get big and will check to see if the lfs would want some of them, I don't expect to get much if anything for them seeing how they are the millions fish. Any other advice regarding breeding guppies would be appreciated. What does that mean, Bob? "Till the cows come home." Where have the cows been? |

I think youll lose a lot of fry to the crab if he figures out how to catch them.Should the fry start to settle at night (and they might well since most fry are not great swimmers and tire easily) the crab will probably start picking them off. |
