If it appears very different from the others it may in fact be deformed and the fish may be unable to breed. But it might be fine. there is really no way to tell except get him and see if you end up with offspring with long gonopodiums. Have fun, Mike ps. Usually these are sold in trios of two males and a female. The short gonopodium male for breeding and the long for looking at. I am not sure how the genetics work but I believe the female carries the trait(sex linked). max |
