with the guoramies i'd recommend going about three r four weeks and feed the other fish before releasing them.
Thats what i usually do. Hope you have many survivors.

Sophthefish,

I honestly wouldn't know how long to keep the fry separated, but I would assume that about 6 to 8 weeks are for sure sufficient.

But I would like to share a story with you, if you don't mind:

When I had 3 Platies and the first female gave birth I have been able to save 9 fry. After raising them first for 4 weeks in a net breeder and then another 6 weeks in a cornered off section of the tank, I released them to the adults (also in tank where Neons and Danios). All survivied, but - I am having issues now with way too much surviving fry . Even now that I am not taking any preventive measures anymore, one or the other always find a spot in the tank were it can hide out and eat at the same time until it is large enough to venture out into the open. After having to eliminate 2 of the original 3 adults (dropsy) I am now up to at least 15 Platies in this tank and just today found another fry. Intersting is that they venture out into the open much earlier than I would have expected, at maybe 3 to 4 weeks, but always close to vegitation so they can hide when feeling threatened.

Moral: take it easy on saving too much fry .

Keep them seperated until they are too big to fit in your biggest fishes' mouth. I.E. For a species tank of guppies wait about 4 weeks.

I think they must be fairly big, especially with the Gourami's. Wait till you see that they are big enough & mae sure that you also have some hiding places in your tank.

Ya i also followed the same rule. I had a 60 gal. community tank and JUST to make sure i waited until they were slightly smaller than my neons just bc the neons were never threatened... that worked until i got a little more adventurous with fish and tiger barbs decided they wanted a snack. But it always seems as though when you want fry to survive.....it's really hard..and when you just don't care, they find a way to survive on their own lol..

Thats true when you have no want of the fish at all it survives. When you want it, it is eaten the first day.
