I have a 10 gallon tank that has 1 male guppy and 2 female guppies in it. About 3 weeks ago both females gave birth only a few days apart. They were both in seperate net breeders so theres no doubt they both gave birth. Now after such a short time one looks to be pregnant again. Is this possible in such a short time?
Sorry about the quality of the picture but we've loaned out our good digital camera.

Guppies are always pregnant. Even if you took the male out, she could still have two or three more batches.

Mike said it...Once a female has been around a male they will remain pregnant for 6-9 months without a male anywhere near her. So you should actually be expecting a new batch of fry from each female every 28-32 days there abouts. I've even read that the females can be inciminated as young fry, if not seperated early So the only truely safe way to keep guppies (if you don't want fry that is) is to keep male guppies...and just for a thought, be glad humans are not like guppies Heidi
