My lfs has a quite large fish of probably 2" that they identify as a guppy tail molly- and as far as I can tell it is-its head and body look like that of a molly while the tail is quite larged as a guppy's. Can anyone inform me further on this species?

It could possibly be a hybrid between a guppy and a molly. Any other characteristics?

Gray in color and a few bland markings on the body

i've seen them around before and honestly, all they really are is a molly with a genetic mutation that makes their tail large and round. Its true, they do resemble guppy tails but they're still molly's nonetheless.
