HEy- I have three tanks now, and one I am using exclusively as a baby guppy tanks. The tank is a simple five gallon tank with a filter and light, just wanted to make sure that this is a good idea for the baby guppies that are on the way any day now.... I have 5 pregnant moms and they were that way when I got them about 2.5 weeks ago... I am going to add a heater as the baby guppies appearently grow faster in warmer water... does this seem like a good set-up. ALso the males and females are seperated... and then there is a totally seperate 55 gallon tank... if anyone has any input on this please let me know... I want to make sure this wonderful little guys are happy...thanks

The babies should be fine in the 5g, just be sure to do frequent water changes, and feed them 2-4 times a day or else they will not grow very fast. Once they get bigger than anyone else's mouth in the bigger tanks I would move them out to help their rapid growth. Also having the heat around 82 degrees F or so will help them grow by increasing their metabolism (hence why you should feed them several times a day). Good luck with your new babies!

sounds good, good idea to keep the males and females apart.

That set up sounds good for baby guppies.

That's a good setup. Feed the fry 2/4 times a day & do more than weekly water changes. This will help the fry grow faster.
