Guppy food... | |
T/A Mega Fish Posts: 942 Kudos: 1796 Registered: 20-Feb-2004 | A couple days ago I picked up 3 male Guppies to fill out my 10 gallon. I've noticed they really don't seem to like the foods I've offered. I've tried Spirulina flakes, Brine Shrimp flakes, color flakes, tropical flakes, and freeze-dries bloodworms. I'm hoping they will get use to the foods I have, but if not, is there any food that would be a guaranteed success with the Guppies? |

(With the severums running a close second...)Even the guppies I have raised on live food will eat anything I drop in there... as they even pick at my hand if I have to move anything around in the tank.... Like was said above... give it a couple of days and they should start eating. If they are stressed they might not have much of an appetite. Sometimes if it's a female and she is really pregnant then she might not eat as much either... Good luck! |

T/A Mega Fish Posts: 942 Kudos: 1796 Registered: 20-Feb-2004 | The one surviving guppy is now eating anything I put in the tank. I assume it was just getting adjusted to the tank. Unfortunatly, the other two guppies had the same fate as every other fish that I've bought from this one chain store. Amazingly this store has a 15 day guarentee, so I can either try two more or just get my money back. |

Guppies rarely turn down food. A possibility if you are having problems from just one store is that there's a large difference in water parameters. Have you tested the store's water or asked the employees? |
