After my female guppy gave birth I put her into a tank by herself to give the babies some space. BUT- I figured she'd be lonely so I went out and bought her a friend (another female guppy). After I put them together I noticed that my mommy guppy is really picking on the other one- chasing her around and stuff like that. Is this normal or should I separate them??? I thought guppies were non-aggressive? Please help me because I do not want to lost my new guppy. Thanks-
Gen
BTW my tank is a 1-2 gallon

Your tank might be too small. It's a 2 gallon? What are the babies in? If it's bigger you might switch tanks or get a bigger one now. You'll need it later anyway if you're going to raise the fry.

Good luck, Mike

One thing to think about is that fish do not have feelings like humans do. One some fish need to have "buddies" and those are the schooling and shoaling fish (tetras, barbs, cories, rainbows, etc).

Many fish, guppies included, are fine on their own.
