I know that hard boiled egg yolk can be fed to guppies. How much can be given and how do you guys feed it without cluding the water?

I'll do graffiti,

I would recommend hard-boiling the hell out of those eggs, like SUPER hard-boiling them, for a good 30 minutes or so, to make the yolk more "solid", and then just dropping in a few pea sized bits to see how they reacy to them. If you only feed a little at a time, and the guppies pounce on them in a frenzy like I expect they would, the clouding should be a minimum.

that's my take on it, anyways

Clouding the water is actually the whole purpose behind that method of feeding. The fry have a hard time of finding food sometimes making the best method of feeding a cloud of food 3-6 times daily depending on the age of the fry. You will get higher survival rates if you are looking in that direction. The egg yolks are fantastic as even the tiniest of the fry can fit the cloudy particles in their mouth. Just hard boil it regular and take a tiny section off no more than the size of a BB pellet. Crush this in the water creating the food cloud above the fry. This method of feeding does require good filtration and/or frequent water changes to keep the water in top shape. You'll notice fantastic fry growth on this method though.

Good luck

This is a good hint. It would seem that the yolk in the water would be similar in effect to the shop bought fry food. A good alternative to get some variety. I must remember this.

Thanks for the posts friends
