The lfs is going to want large mollies. Since this sounds like a semi commercial adventure why not put the fry in a five gallon bucket for a month with a box or sponge filter. You can move them to a large tupperware tote later.

If your breeders are two inches long or less the three of them should be fine in the five gallon tank.

I agree. Try out a trio of the mollies, if they start breeding, use a bucket, or a smaller aquarium with a sponge filter, you might be able to make good money depending on where you live!

72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up
75 gallon: A. Baenschi trio,Cyanotilapia Afra Cobwe(4), copadichromis trewavase, protomelas sp. tangerine tiger(breeding pair)

So, If I have small mollies I put the mollies in the 5 gal, but if I have big mollies I put the fry in the 5 gal?

To sum up,

1st
If your mollies are smaller than 2 inches each it will be fine in your 15gal tank. If they are bigger it might be a lil overstock.

2nd
When your mollies spawn put the FRY into the 5gal. Wait untill fry gets bigger and then put them into a one of those bigger 'rubbermaid' platic boxes.

That's all

Good luck

I don't know how your LFS is, but we give barely any store credit to people who bring in livebearers that they bred unless they are show-quality strains. Sometimes we will even refuse to take them at all if we have too many.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.
