I saw almost the most spectacular looking fish at mejier, yes i know a store for food , but its true, they had 2 or 3 half black male guppies that i wanted to buy SOOOO bad (no $), the females were awsome colored also black with light blue on their tails!!!

Lastly, they had a GREAT school of tuxedo platies!!
2 atleast were HEAVILY pregnant....they were all amazing!
i wish i could buy at least 3 of them( the guppies and platies) BUT i had NO MONEY!!!!!!!! i dont really have the space for them either...it SUCKS!

o well ges ill have to wait til i get $ and more tanks.

I wonder if the guppies might have been metallic blues. The back 1/2 to 2/3 of their bodies are a deep, deep blue, almost looks black. The front portion is a gold/tan color.
This is the only picture of them I've been able to find online. I'll have to try to take pics of mine.

There are also guppies called 'blacks' which are similar, a large portion of the body is black. They tend to not have the irridescent coloring the metallics have.

What color tux platies did they have? I have a red tux and an orange tux. I'm trying to breed blue into my platies and recently purchased a male blue spotted Mickey Mouse, lfs also had blue tuxes available.

Oh if the tail was red that type is usually called a half black red.

While the platies are called 'reds' they're usually not what I'd call stop-light red; more of a very deep red-orange.

That's how mine is. From the sides he's a nice looking fish, but from the top he's gorgeous, fantastic metallic coloring. I'll have to attempt some pics.
