Is My Guppy Pregnant? | |
HorseGal Hobbyist Posts: 134 Registered: 28-Jun-2007 | Hi there, i'm new! I was wondering how to tell if a guppy is pregnant. I have a few females and i just got a new one, hoping to get some babies. She has a huge gravid spot, but isn't fat... Does it matter? (she was in a tank with some males) Thanks! -HorseGal What came first? the chicken or the egg? No really..... |

Then you know its pretty imminent, birth being usually less than 48 hours away. |

I have a few fancy guppies myself (a few being an understatement) they get pregnant and have babies all the time! they are, in my oppinion, one of the more active livebreeders. If you want a higher survival rate of the fry have a heavly planted aquarium/ lots of places for the fry to hide. if you want to control the popultion, take away some of the hiding places andthey will have less of a chance of liveing, but you will still have a good batch each time! |
