Keeping a RTBS with breeding guppies | |
weighates Hobbyist Posts: 56 Kudos: 44 Votes: 1 Registered: 20-Jun-2005 | Ok. I have a 29g with about 8 guppies in it atm. I put a small 3in rtbs in there to reduce the bioload on another of my aquariums. Will he eat the fry or be ok. He doesnt seem to even notice the guppies atm.. Thanks, Chris |

If they fit in his mouth, they'll be food for him. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Although FP lists this fish as a Herbivore, most other profiles of it say it is an Omnivore. In addition, they say this fish is rather aggressive and there might not be enough hiding places for your guppies to avoid the occasional harassment. How long ago did you put him in the tank? He will show his true colors only after having settled in his new home. Ingo Last edited by Little_Fish at 28-Jul-2005 15:05 |

And yes I mean a Red Tailed Black Shark. I suppose if he starts harassing my guppies he can go back into the other tank. Chris PS- I dunno if this matters but in the other tank he got picked on ALOT so maybe he learned his lesson and my not pick on the other fish. Last edited by weighates at 28-Jul-2005 15:47 |
