I've never tried, but in my experience (my sister has mollies), they're WAY too active for a betta. *I* get dizzy watching them sometimes... poor betta would be swimming in circles!

If I were in a betta boy's fins, I would be very apprehensive about having such enthusiastic, fast moving roommates. I've seen mollies and they don't give a fig as to who might be in their way, they just dash madly about the tank, doing what mollies do best.

~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~

well, it originally was an idea to make room for the 60-ish new fry i found this morning. I've had three females give birth in the past two days. so. now i'm running out of room... I've got a 10 gallon only for the fry, i have a 29 gallon with a betta and plecostomus, and a 55 gallon where all the love-making is taking place. so... I already had some three week old fry in the ten gallon and i didnt think they were ready for the 55 gallon. but they were to big to mix in with the new fry.....

any suggestions?
