Molly Babies | |
daeraelle Hobbyist Posts: 100 Kudos: 16 Votes: 9 Registered: 02-May-2006 | After my own tank finally got back on track after my husband managed to destroy it in one day... he wanted his own. So we went out and bought him a 29g, just like mine. He decided on sailfin mollies. The tank isn't even halfway cycled, it's only been up for a week. One of the mollies had babies last night (which is weird, I dreamed I put her in the bathtub and was scooping babies out and into the tank all last night). My husband wakes up and he's so excited, and he comes to get me, that one of his fish is having babies, as soon as I get there, the three females are eating all the babies, so while he stands there staring with his mouth gaping I get a breeding net up and rescue the remaining two babies. I'm wondering what the likelyhood of the babies living will be? The tank isn't fully cycled, I'm afraid they won't be as hardy as their parents. Do they have a chance? |
