Basic info? Okay, I can handle that.

Mollies are livebearers, meaning they give birth to their young. They're pretty hardy, provided they have the right water specs. They like a little salt in their water, especially black mollies. Temperature should be kept around 80*F. Types include sailfin, lyretail and balloon.

Mollies, like most livebearers, breed pretty readily, and come in lots of different color varities, black, platinum, dalmation, etc. That's just off the top of my head. If you have both male and female, expect fry.

Ideal tankmates include swordtails, platty, and other livebearers and timid fish that can be kept in slightly brackish water.

Anything else you'd like to know?

HTH...

Guppies and mollies will coexist peacefully, and both will eat their own fry.
You might be able to see some swimming around, but they usually don't last long.

As a general rule, most livebearers are compatible with one another.

Mollies, Platties, Guppies, Swords, etc.

As stated, they will all eat their own fry. Yummy, right?

EDIT: Just wanted to add that, occasionally, if the tank is heavily planted, a couple fry may get the chance to grow up, but most will prolly get eaten if left in there with the parents.
You could have a grow out tank, and raise some of the fry and then sell it to your LFS for a small profit.

I had mollies for a long while and they never, OK RARELY consumed their young. the fry had an excellent chance, having a LOT of hiding places, none of the other fish in the tank ever bothered them. After I put them in their own tank I soon had over 50 young, and they grew up fairly quickly. never did anything special for them besides smashing the flakes real fine so they could eat it. very peaceful, very beautiful fish

the offspring would not be able to have babies of their own.
