My platy gave birth to her first fry on the 8th of february. She is already looking like she is ready to burst again. I thought that it took 3+ weeks between birthings but if she's within a couple of dropping then thats only 2 weeks. Is it possible I'll have more fry after only 2 weeks?

Here are some pictures (she's the orange fish)
1st, the mother about a month ago, weeks before she gave birth

Congrats on the fry.

From the pics provided it doesnt look like she is at all close to bursting. She is most likely just filling back up with eggs/ and or you are going to have a larger size brood as more are developing inside her than last time. I hope this all made sense and good luck.

The normal gestation period for platies is around 4 - 6 weeks, so I would just say that your fish is just going to have a large batch of fry as Ryan stated. I don't know how many fry your platy had previously, but they can have as many as 80 off-spring.

My attention was drawn to the other oddly colored fish. I like different looking fish & I saw one with a silver body & red tail. Then a yellow one with a red top fin & black streaks on the tail. I liked those.

Well she gave birth again on the 25th. That makes it only 17 days since the last time. I was only able to save one fry again as it was very unexpected that it was so soon. I wish I could catch her giving birth so I would know how many fry are actually coming out. But the new little fishy is in with the 17 day old fishy and the snail.
