Hello,

I'm stll working with my firt ever tank - 11uk G. I'm setting up a 120g tank at the moment.

At first I had a m & f guppy then I read how randy the chaps are so got a second f. Then the first f got eaten by my crab so I started feeding him lance fish which he loves.

My 2nd f guppy was pregnant when i got her 45 days ago & she's still pregnant now (hugely fat, back bent, giant blackish spot).

I was worried she was stressed by the m as she was now on her own so I got a small plastic tank thingie which floats in my tank using the same water so the m can't get to her & it has a grill in the bottom to catch the babies.

Still no babies...I also got a 3rd f (to replace the 1st crab eaten one).

I got a white spot infection on a couple of neons & treated the whole tank.

What am I doing wrong? is my little tank thingie too small?

please help.

Why no babies?

It is very possible that when a female guppy is stressed, she hangs in the corner and refuses to give birth. I had this happen to one of my female guppies so I put her in a different tank and turned up the heater to 82 degress f and within the second day she dropped all of her fry.

If you don't have anything that would be bothered by the higher temperature I would suggest going ahead and increasing the temp in the tank she is currently in as long as you remove the female out of the plastic floating thing when she is done giving birth. Or else the fry will become breakfast for her.

Good luck and let us know what happens!
