Platies in Eclipse 6 | |
Hooktor Fish Addict Posts: 646 Kudos: 651 Votes: 67 Registered: 22-Mar-2004 | I acquired an eclipse 6 from my mom's school and i was wondering if it would be possible to put a trio of platies in there? I know that there would be a lot of fry, but i am not worried about the amount of fry because i have friends with tanks and a community tank. Would a trio be the max amount? |

Males and females look exactly alike, other than males are a little smaller. You'd also never have to deal with fry. Seems perfect to me Just a thought. Platys, if given the right conditions to live to a ripe old age of 3-4 years, get incredibly large. My oldest female is 2 years old now, and she is hitting close to 3.5 inches! I wouldnt do platys at all, I would say the smallest tank for platys would be 15g long. How about the livebearer Brachyrhaphis Holdridgei, a nice small livebearer that is very attractive and unusual. Endlers and Guppies would also be the better choice. Come Play Yahtzee With Me! http://games.atari.com Http://www.myleague.com/yahtgames |
