Roberta![]() Fingerling Posts: 38 Kudos: 24 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Sep-2004 ![]() ![]() | I bought a Mollie a Tetra and 2 Platty's last week.I thought that one of the platties looked alittle chunky so i went bought a breeder net just in case.well i was putting the net together and getting ready to place in the tank when i noticed the fry.Now i believe the other plattie is going to have babies but i do not know what to look for so i would know that she is about to have them. I am using 10 gallon tanks and put all the fish in one tank and left the fry is the old tank.So far i have counted 14 fry.I also can not figure out if my Mollie is pregnant she is hiding alot. She does not look fat like the mollie did so that is why i am not sure what is going on. Thank you all who can help me out ![]() |

Sex of livebearers can be easily determined by the male's modified anal fin (gonopodium). Females grow larger and have a more rounded body www.blooming-brilliant.co.uk |

I did not have all the fish in 1 tank untill the fry was born i did not know she was going to have babies. the man at the store never bothered to let me know it. i just noticed she had a little bigger. as soon as i can i will be getting a bigger tank since all these can not be in 1 10. right with money it is hard for me to get a bigger tank. like i said i wanted to have 5 in one tank and 5 in another tank. i was just lucky my dad had the extra 10 gallon he could lend me. |
