	Pregnant - Not Pregnant ??? Molly
iamgentlelady Small Fry Posts: 7 Kudos: 8 Votes: 0 Registered: 02-Oct-2004	One of my Dalmation Mollies has been pregnant 3 times and just when I am sure she is going to release her fry, she gets skinny and there are no fry....Is she having false pregnancies or aborting her babies???????

Perky Mega Fish Posts: 1064 Kudos: 1036 Votes: 162 Registered: 24-Nov-2003	yeah, alot of the time they have them and are soo tiny you miss them. I got back from holiday before to see that I had 1 baby in my tank. I have seen 7 in my tank before but they all were eaten by other fish.

joe fishy Fish Addict Posts: 605 Kudos: 1355 Votes: 65 Registered: 21-Apr-2003	If there are other fish in the tank, you could put in some floating plants to provide shelter for the new fry. Alternately, you could move her into a separate tank to deliver, or put a meshnet breeding trap in the tank, and place her in that before labor begins. Remember, she will eat her own fry as well - it's a fish eat fish world out there!
