I am new here ,please forgive my ignorance ,but I have 2 questions.
1)- I have 3 2 week old guppies ,close to 1/4 in. in length,I also have 3 platies ,that were born 2 days ago.Can I combine them together ,or will the bigger fish chase the fry?I ask this as I see the guppies zip at each other ,I couldnt tell if they are nipping at one another,so I feared for the platy fry.Havent moved them in with them yet ,wanted to confirm the outcome.
2)Kinda is part b. of Ques. 1.- My guppy that had the 2 week old fry,looks within days if not hours from dropping some.Is this possible in that short of time?I mean I read about the monthly drop ,but can she have a few 2 weeks ago ,and then have a few more 2 weeks later?
I need to move the 3 platie fry in with the 3 2 week old guppies ,if possible.So I can put her where she needs to be to drop them.
Like I said ,I am new ,so please bare with me.
I appreciate any help I can get.

This guppy I would say is way too young to drop fry and as long as the platies arent so small that they can easily fit in the mouths of the guppies I wouldnt fear for them.

Actually ,I have already combined the 3 platy fry with the 3 guppy fry,and the bigger guppies dart and seem to nip at the smaller platy fry ,but the guppy fry do that with one another as well ,is this them claiming the small space or just playing ,or are they trying to eat them?
Also, a new question. I am unable to work at the young age of 34 ,but is it possible to make some extra cash in breeding them? Say ,could I make at least a 100 bucks a week, (averaged out of course). I am looking for work I can do at home,Is this possible?The reason I ask is ,I have 2 very awesome species of guppies ,and I know their fry will be incredible...I dont know the species ,and I cant even fathom ,how someone can tell, I have seen so many variations .Are the limits of guppy breeding endless?Do some of the names just get created by the owners? My new male is Light light blue at the end of his big fan tail and as the color gos to the body it gets darker blue ,like sapphire,and then right behind his eyes to the nose gos to white,almost more like cream.He has bright yellow on top and bottom.Very Handsome.I have seen guppies online sell in trios,I assume 1 male and 2 female,but I see some selling for $50 bucks and so on.(Shipping included of course)
I just feel like this may be what I am searching for.
And on the same token ,I see some sell for 3 bucks...
Any help will be greatly appreciated ,and please know ,I am dead serious ,I can spend all the money I need to make this happen.Where I get my fish in Tn ,The guppies go for less than a buck and a half.
I will get some good digital pics for you guys as well ,I need to get somewhere to host the pics ,so they can be clicked on to get the full page pic,otherwise I feel the beauty wont be captured.

Here are my tank specs ,and of course 2 months ago I started it all wrong as my lack of knowledge as to what I was doing ,I have also noticed and also get mad about it ,but why do LFS hire people who have NO KNOWLEDGE ,of what they are telling and what they are not telling customers?I have set tile and been self employed doing tile work for 18+ years ,On the same token ,I know there are tile setters out there doing it who havent a clue as to what they are doing or telling customers,It just upsets me sometimes as to how people do buisiness...

2 albino cory cats
1 red tail shark
3 neon tetras
2 -what I was told they were is blue dwarf Gouramies,I dont believe this as they are big.
1 poor old painted glass fish ,who wont shake Ick,we named him Tank.
And 1 clam
3 2 week old guppy fry
3 3 day old platy fry

I am going to get another tank this week as ,I know I am near or over my limit for this tank.

1 more fast question is my bio part of my Millenium 2000 filter,It looks very very nasty ,should I take it out and rinse it with cold water?Or leave it be...

If I can help one person who is new and taking up this hobby my one suggestion would be to have patience and CYCLE before you add fish ,no matter what your LFS tells you ,remember they are trying to make money...Although some LFS are looking for long term buisiness and may be honest and share what they know with you...Please be patient...My tank 3 months later now takes very very little tending.And it is gorgeous...

Livebearers should have a 1m/2f ratio. Cory cats do best in a group of 6 or more. Neons need of school of 6+.

Thank you Katieb ,I pretty much have learned the ratio ,I did know that going in , and lost a few and for the guppies and the platies ,I knew babies would soon help that ratio ,which they soon will ,but I have bred mollies 15 years ago ,I know she will drop some soon ,hopefully in my awake hours .Thank you for that help ,other than that ,how is my population in your opinion?I forgot to add water test results ,I havent tested in 3 weeks ,but everything looks like it is great and doing fine.I can if need be.I had 7 neons when I started 3 months ago ,we lost a few ,and a couple of the cats ,another concern of mine is ,these 2 gouramies,The first 2 I bought got along great ,very docile ,one passed on ,and the other is kinda petite ,but still pretty good size, I got a newer one ,and he chases everyone in the tank ,he is a bully ,and I am considering ,swapping him for something else ,he has attacked my smaller one so much that he is starting to be short fused as well ,as where he used to be a wonderful fish with the others..
The mean gouramie ,just hangs out near my fry net contraption and trys to get to the fry by ramming into it to get em.I am sure he has sucked a few through in the past month ,I have even added a second layer of hose material to obstruct his view of them and add more protection,...I know it has helped,but the smaller one doesnt attack the fry or even think about it ,Bottom line I feel is the bigger one has to go ,he is disrupting a very harmonic tank ,in my eyes...
