Ok here is my story.

I have two tanks
1 20 gallon tank up for about 3 1/2 weeks.
Ammonia 0 Nitrate 15 Nitrite 2.0

Tank occupants
2 catfish, 4 mollies

2nd tank
10 gallon up for a month and a half
ammonia 0 nitrate 10 nitrite 1.0

Tank Occupants:
2 Neon Tetras, 2 Zebra danios, 2 guppies, 1 molly

Recently (this morning) one of my pot bellied mollies had approximately 35-40 fry this morning. I had them in a breeding net. I took all the fish out of the 10 gallon and put them in the 20 gallon which now has (13 fish, from 6) I know this isn't good for the tank so I was wondering if there are any suggestions about what I should do. I don't think 30 something fry would survive in the breeding tank. I was thinking I could return the 2 catfish (which I bought a week ago) and maybe put the neon tetras in with the fry. This would only be an addition of 3 fish to the 20 gallon as opposed to 7 fish. Just curious if the neon tetras would eat the fry. I want to raise the fry and keep some and either give some away or try to sell them to a Local fish store nearby.

I was also wondering the best way to feed my fry. The 10 gallon is a hexagon and is pretty tall and most of the fry are hanging out in the gravel at the bottom.

Also any other information on raising molly fry would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

Jamie

You can feed the finely crushed flakes or any powdered food for livebearers fry.
If you are going to keep some of the fry, do you have where to put them?.
Your Tetra's, Danios & Corydoras need to stay in schools & not 2 of each.

Crushed flakes are the easiest because you probably already have flake food....if you don't crush them up enough, it's ok...it's kinda funny to watch fry carry around chunks of food larger than themselves!

I've got a fever... and the only prescription... is more cowbell!

Is your tank heavily planted? if not, then put some plants in your tank to provide hiding places for the fry (floating plants will be very good) u don't need to move the other fish,(but of course we're not certain all of the fry will survive) but if you want to raise all of the fry, then move the fry in a smaller tank to make sure they all survive or vise versa.

Feeding the fry isn't a problem, like said above u can feed them with crushed flakes. But i will suggest that u should feed them occasionally live foods, like daphnia, etc. for fast growth. hope that helps!
