Hi,

Didn’t your breeder box come with a lid? I know the basic 3-way breeder I once had did. I closed the lid and attached a nylon string with which I secured the whole box on the tank frame so it doesn’t float around.

How far along is your guppy? I would suggest you don’t place her in there too early anyway as she might panic and loose here fry.

As soon as the fry is born I would suggest removing them and placing them in a net breeder as the slits in the boxes are too wide and the fry might escape into the tank.

Hope this helps,

Ingo

If you don't have a lid, just cut one out from a plastic sheet.

Your's isn't the only female who is known to do this

KTS's female guppy Sunshine has been known to bail out of the breeding net when she got tired of all the fry she had just dropped, apparently driving her crazy

My Psycho bailed out of the breeding net I had her in, not to drop fry, but to give her a chance to adjust to the new tank surroundings, and she bailed out

If you can't add a lid, try lowering the water level a bit, this seems to help...if she is persistant on not being in the net, leave her out and just leave plenty of plants for her to drop the fry in...
