I have a 55 gal community tank. I have one of the biggest mollies that I have ever seen and it seems that all she ever does is have babies. There are a bunch of her fry that have lived and are growing to a good size (and are having fry themselves). But that is the problem, when the fry are born no one eats them so I am stuck with all these fish! I know that it may be cruel but I have taken out the last several batches of new fry and given them to my neighbor for their Oscars. I hate to do this but my tank is really becoming overcrowded with these unwanted fry. I need some advice!

55 gal

platy fry
molly fry
10 cories
1 pleco
5 white clouds
1 swordtail
2 golden snails

Maybe get another tank and separate the males and females?

I thought about doing that but I have limited space so I don't know if that would be an option. Do LFS buy fish?

Many LFSs buy fish. It all depends on your LFS. Call them before, and see if they will buy from you.

Usually the fish stores will buy fish if they are healthy. You could either give them for free or sell them. You could also get a seperate tank for all the fish. Hope this helps!

You could sell them to the local pet store.

Zebra danios. Possibly female bettas. You need someone on population control. I have danios in with my guppies and they're doing a good job of keeping the population in hand.

My sister also takes the males and I keep the females. Of course, that means that 3/4 of the fry are girls. Go figure.

You may find that people may be interested in buying these fry from you in the classifieds section of the site. Also i would have to agree in reccomending almost any type of danio
