These are some livebearers that we have at the LFS that do not have a certain ID yet. Any help in identifying them will be appreciated!

Fish 1: Very slender with a smooth, distinct line down its side.

Fish 2: Crappy picture, but the main distinguishing features are the bold spots on the dorsal and anal fins; also there is a blotchy yet clear line along the side.

Fish 3: Not much is known other than that this large livebearer is a wild-caught Poecilid.

Thanks!

The third one looks like a mosquito fish.
My school has some of them in the bio lab.

Do you know the exact species name of the ones at your school?

I am pretty sure that Fish 3 is not a Gambusia, the most common type of mosquito fish.

#1 looks like it could be heterandria formosa.

Fish #3 is a gumbusia (excuse spelling) that is sometimes mistaken as a feeder female that is known to exhibit aggression.

zach.. I once had a "feeder female guppy" who was so aggressive she literally killed anything else put into her tank... she was huge... and lived much longer than any other guppy I've had. Could she have been this fish you're talking about?

We're thinking she might be a "Mexican molly".

I got a better look at her today... Not a guppy, but definitely in the genus Poecilia.

I agree with Theresa_M, that fish in the first two pics is definitely Heterandria formosa in the family poeciliidae. Common names are mosquito fish or least killifish.
