i have a 10G with about 9 fry in the tank. the tank is suffering from green water at the moment. the fry are probably 405 weeks old.. see pics

i have a female guppy in another tank thats about to pop again, thats 15G no green water

my question is. when is it safe to move the fry guppies into the 15G with mum? cause i want to move them into the 15G and while she gives birth, the preg guppy into the 10g.

EDIT: my apologies if the links dont work, i cant upload to the site yet

There really is no set time to move fry but generally the rule of thumb is to move them when they are larger than anyone's mouth in the community. So if only guppies are in the 15g you could add the fry earlier while if other fish are present you may want to wait.

405 weeks old? well then they are about 12 years old. umm. i don't think that is right, but if it is then the fry are adults and can go into that tank.
please update.

And be cautious with the bigger-than-anyone's-mouth rule because I have misjudged before and suffered the consequences.

Hi

Looking at your pics posted in the links above it would appear that they are big enough to put with the adults. I have some that are smaller in with the adults and they are fine. I notice sometimes the adults chasing the smaller ones but they fend for themselves quite well, especially if there are plants to hide in the tank.

BTW, the last link did not work for me.

Good luck with your fry!
