I had some fry recently, but only one survived (the others got eaten i think), the other baby was in a plastic cup, until i got a breeder and put him in there. Well, guess what? It killed it, i found the body stuck between the net and a plastic post (part of the breeder), is there anything i can do to prevent these kinds of casualties next time?
Also, two days later, i found my male platy stuck under one of the shells i set up in my tank (so that any fry can hide under them)

Get plants. Lots and lots of plants. Plastic or real, it doesn't matter. Make an thicket in the tank and alot of fry will make it. Breeder nets aren't good for anything but freaking the mommafish out and growing algea. Though the net part is ok for tying around your intake so fry don't get sucked up.

If you really want to raise fry get another tank to grow them in or you'll soon be hopelessly overcrowded.

Good luck, Mike
