Chelle *Chelle* I love the fishes cuz they're SOOO delicious... |

Now instead I use it for fry I occasionally find, kind of a grow-out trap. In my regular breeding tank I bought a tank divider instead. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

Because i use a power head it works well when i put it right where the current ends up the most. I had 2 batches of fry in the last 2 days and 95% of them were alive, no losses due to the trap itself. Like was said above, some fish will hard core stress if you put them in it. Some will do fine, it really just depends on the fish. I had one molly that hated the thing and i just waited till i saw her ready and VERY slowly just came up behind her and moved her up to the top and she had the babies, everything was fine. I like the hard clear ones because to me it makes it easier to come up behind them rather than a net, my fish when they see a net - good luck finding them or actually catching them, it just furthers the stress. Of course i moved the fry to their own 10 gallon tank specially prepared for them, that is one other thing about breeding apparatus, you have to be careful because when you take the fry out, the water drains rather quickly and i have had them get stuck to nets so i stay away from that now. Fry i have found are extremely hardy and VERY fast (for good reason heheh) Also if one gets away and hits the gravel good luck finding it even if it is right where you know it is Last edited by shadows at 30-Sep-2005 11:34 |
