I wouldn’t be too surprised if the ammonia would melt away some of their beautiful fins. Given that it is a small tank and that you ask explicitly for Guppies, could you “borrow” a starter fish, like 3 danios, from the LFS and then later return them? Is your tank planted (real plants)? If so, what kind of and how may plants do you have? You might be able to add 2 right away. For no plants: I assume you don’t want to go through a fishless cycle because you cannot wait for weeks until you could finally place some fish in your tank, right? Here is what I would do: Use Bio Spira to seed (follow the instructions) the tank, monitor Ammonia and Nitrites 2 x a day, once Nitrite starts to fall add the first small group (3) of guppies, keep on monitoring values once a day, if values stay stable for a week add the next group and so forth.
