Azn_Devil![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Big Fish Posts: 366 Kudos: 310 Votes: 5 Registered: 30-Apr-2004 ![]() | i was wondering how long does it usually take for color to show up and why some fry get color later than others. right now i have a nice fry that is like 5/8 of an inch and it has a nice tail with a mix of orange (from my female), yellow and some black spots (both from a male that passed away). while some of my fry already have a half colored tail, some of mine arent much bigger than when they first came outta their moma. whats usually the cause of this? are the bigger fry hogging the food or is it just how those fry are? and how long does it usually take for fry to get as big and colorful as their parents? |

Their fry range from 1 1/2 months to a week or so old. The oldest fry are starting to get a lot of color in their tails, with the males just starting to get color on their bodies as well. The parents, being quite young themselves, are still gaining color. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

The females grow the fastest and it takes a little longer for them go get their full color. It depends on the type of guppy. I have two different types of guppies and one type's fry starts getting some black with in a few days of being born and within a month starts getting it's other colors and the other types takes over a month to get color at all. ![]() |
