tankie Fish Addict Posts: 857 Kudos: 848 Votes: 230 Registered: 15-Mar-2005 | woke up this morning....and saw my female platy a bit thinner...and so, i started looking around the tank...in the java moss area..there are small thingy with 2 dots that r swimming....i got fry!!!... un fortunately, i dont know how many she gave birth with..and i can only count a handful...and by the hour...they r disappearing one by one. i have to get a new tank and try to rescue as many as i can otherwise...it will be like survival of the fittest. |

Goodluck Koi and hey congrats Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn. |

houston Fish Guru You want what when? Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 | Tankie, like was said you need some floating plants...get yourself some Anacharis...plant some and let some float above...It's great at helping conceal the fry and it will gather some of the food so the fry are able to eat... The best thing and easiest as well as cheapest way that I've found to feed my fry is to just take what you normally feed the adults and put it in a ziplock type baggy, and crush/grind/mush it till it is in powder form, then sprinkle lightly...it is also what my adults now eat Don't worry about saving ever little fry, you will soon have more than you want to think about Congratulations!!! heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom."
