anjichester1 Fingerling Posts: 17 Kudos: 25 Votes: 0 Registered: 06-Apr-2005 | tank been set up 4 weeks sorry thought it was longer with all the trouble having its a 30 gal had white spot and lost guppies male and female 2female sword fish clown but other one is fine and one neon just had water tested monday high with nitrate and nitrite so did water change monday nite tonite and will do one friday and have it tested again on sunday if pregant fish dies do the fry inside her die too thanks |

Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 | Yes, I'm sorry to say that like humans, if the pregnant female dies, the fry inside also die Try doing a 10% water change each day this week, and next to see if it will help with your readings...Also add some plants into the tank, this will help soak up some of the nitrates. I've heard Hornwort is the best for this (I usually kill the hornwort off so don't really knowI use anacharis) Keep up with the water changes, and keep testing the water, and things should go down and be fine...best of luck, heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom."
