Hey all,
I have a 30 gallon community tank well stocked with various fish and plants.included in this are two male guppies. Last week I introduced 4 new males guppies. Big mistake One of the new one I found dead yesterday and the other three stressing big time in rocks and plants. I took the two original guppies and moved them and then they came out and all was good. I want to return the guppies back.
Whats the problem?
I have no females as i iwish not to breed them but feel this is the only solution as the males are going nuts.
I have tried rearranging the tank to but to no avail.
do I add the females?

What are your other fish in the tank?. If you introduce the females & have fry, the other fish will eat them & you don't have to worry much.

BTW Welcome to FishProfiles.

Go the maltese!
I am half maltese myself!
I have angels, bala sharks, clowns, danios, corys, serpes.
they are not the problem though I have watched these guppies pick on the others. For sure the orginal two are the problem. having fry getting eaten not to worried about as I don't wish to breed them.
Thanks, mate..
where in malta are you?
My family are from Marsa.
regards Daniel

Well you have quite alot of fish that will eat the fry & so that wouldn't be a problem.

I also think that you have to upgrate your tank & you have some fish that will grow quite big.

I'm from h'Attard but at the moment i'm living in Fgura.

What you could try to do is to place the 2 “offenders” into a breeding container / net and place it into the tank for a few days. This gives the group a chance to get acquainted while still maintaining the safety for each involved.

After a few days, when all looks peaceful, you could try to re-introduce them. Keep an eye open for a while.

I would say it’s worth a shot, if it doesn’t work out, just refer to the options listed above (and maybe below).

Hope this helps,

Ingo

Introducing a few females never hurt anythingand if you have other fishies in the tank you should be safe, fry wiseunless they are like mine, and won't touch the fry, then uh don't look at meGo for a few females though, let the guys enjoy themselves, it might be what they need
