I think i will take that guppy back to the pet store, because i only got her on Saturday and she's already dead. I don't know why, my other fish seem fine ( i have guppies, platys, gouramis, and a pleco) so it shouldn't be my water conditions or anything.
She was fine last night (i checked for the last time at one in the morning). Today at 11 i saw that she was dead, she looks exteremely pale, her bright orange tail is pale, almost no color at all. She might be just a little bit bloated but i'm not sure. The female betta that was in the same tank at the store seems fine. Does anyone have any idea why the guppy died? Once again, i don't test my conditions, but they should be good, because my other fish is healthy, plus i have live plants

Your other fish are probably okay because they are/have had time to acclimate to your water parameters. Not so for the new fish. If your tank parameters are askew, shock is probably what killed it. Take in a sample of your water to a LFS that test water for free. Try to find one that tests for them all, usually Petco uses a variety of test sticks. They should tell you if anything is not kosher.

You should get a test kit. You don't have to test every day or week or even month but if something dies or your fish are acting stressed or sick you can test. Its nice to have one around to figure out what's up.

I'd take the guppy back though, it was in your tank for three days, I don't think shock would take that long to kill it.

Sorry about the fish, good luck, Mike
