Definition: Fish placed in the same aquarium to reassure or soothe other fish. Usually used with a potential breeding pair to encourage them to spawn by giving them a sense of security. They may also serve as a "target" for the displacement of aggressive behavior between a potential breeding pair. |

A guppy would be bitten to bits in no time. You are best off either providing more cover/hiding places, or jarring the nasty girl/weakest girl until she behaves and has to come in abd reestablish pecking order. It should break the cycle, but long term, it'll depend on the fish. What other fish do you have in the tank? any bottom feeders? Maybe cories might be a good option, they are armour plated and rather zippy. |
