I have a 5g tank(it's my daughter's), anyway I have one male guppy, a platy and a dwarf gourami. My question is can the guppy and platy breed? I have no idea of the sex of the platy. They had them all in one tank at petco. I assume it's a male.....don't know how to tell the difference.

Welcome to FishProfiles!

It's to my knowledge that platys and guppies are too distantly related to breed. As for figuring out the sex, look at the anal fin. If it is fan shaped, it is a female. If it looks pointy, it is a male.
