hi there!!!
while cycling my tank (i am in week 3) i have been blessed with molly fry twice. i currently have about 18 in a plastic breeder box. i have 2 adult mollies in the main 10 gallon tank. i am beginning to get concerned about an ammonia crash somewhere down the line with this seemingly growing population. i didn't intend to get going with this baby buisness, but my daughter and i are really starting to have fun with it.
my question~~can i get away with say a 5 gallon tank to use as a nursery to move them out of there, or will that be too small?????
i am planning to give them to the lfs when they are of age, but i am sure this will keep happening.
thanks for your thoughts!!!!

If you are going to raise them to a decent size you might as well get a bigger tank now. 18 mollies take up alot of tank even at 1" long.

Good luck and have fun with the babies, Mike

5 gallons should be fine, as soon as they resemble mollies opposed to being (sorry to lower the tone) sperm like give them to you or lfs or to friends as feeder fish

Frankly, if you have room you might want to go with a 10 gal tank..... One of the primary reasons being, you can usually find 10 gal tanks at lower prices than 5 gal tanks..... Another plus is size - because I really hate to tell you this, but if you're finding unexpected babies now - you will probably continue to find more........
Good Luck & Have Fun!
