how old before pregnant? | |
Beefshank Enthusiast Posts: 246 Kudos: 141 Votes: 36 Registered: 30-Jun-2004 | Anybody know how old platys need to be before they can start reproducing? I have 2 "fry" the were born in my tank and now are growing up together in a 10 gal. The boy is about 1/3 the size of an adult, and the girl is about 1/4. They are about 4 months old. I don't want more babys, and am just wondering how long they can live together before I have to do something. thanks, -Dennis |

I find that my guppies (and when I kept the platties) would start breeding as early as 4 months, but sometimes not till 6 months, so seperate them now, if you can tell the sex difference then it's time to seperate...Hope it's not too late, Heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom."
