i asked this question a couple of days ago, but here it goes again (only modified). So someone said that mollies and guppies can have hybrids together, same with swordtails and platys. 1.) are the hybrids fertile? 2.) how can platys and swordtails breed if platys can be 2.5" and swordtails 5"?

I am not sure about the molly/guppy hybrid, but the platy/swordtail hybrid is fertile. It stinks because you don't know if that swordtail you are buying had a platy grandparent. Good luck trying to find a pure platy line or a pure swordtail line.

Nope, it doesn't really matter, especially if the swordtail isn't full size.
