i have 6 baby guppies. they were born back in the end of october. once i was able to distinguish the sex of them, i have 5 girls and one boy. well now one of the girls is more shimmery like the boy and the tail is bolder then the girls. she also has that "male" part. but she is still shaped just like the girls. i know it is a "male" part because she moves it out to the side like the boy does. but she never tries to get my big mamma pregnant. i tried to take a picture but it is hard to capture such fast little fishes. so my questioin is it possible for a fish to have both sexual parts??

It is unlikely. Gravid spots in the back above the anal fin is a female. Males can have coloration that confuses this. A modified anal fin in the shape of a rod is a male. Males can be slow, up to four months to make the transition and this causes confusion. Late developing males tend to be large and sterile.

The pictires are great Heidi. The gravid spot on the female/top picture is above the anal fin at about 1:30 in the top picture inside the circle.
