so my questions are simple...(1) how old do fry (mollies in this case) have to usually be before you can sell them to the lfs...(2) what is the best way to go about finding out if there is a lfs that will buy your fry...

thanks...

Also I am trying to figure out what kind of mollies I have...I am pretty sure one of them is a dalmation...since it looks like a dalmation...but the other I don't know about...it is mostly yellow with a little clear/white...anyone have any suggestions as to what kind they are...or are they just variations of just one species...

thanks...

Well i a good size to sell to the LFS is about, for mollies anyway, 2 inch. Mollies get huge, 5 or so inch. You could look in your phonebook and try that or just go online and try to find the phone numbers for LFS in you area. I really don't know anything but molly species, so maybe someone else can help you with that. Good Luck

fluffy, i think u are thinking about sainfin mollies, those get like 6in, the normal molly stays like 2 in, and why not drive around and write down the names of lfs u see, and when u get home, search them up in the phone book and call them and ask them and i think at one inch is the smallest i have seen them at any store that sells fish

Yup call and ask, I phoned a local petland (before our new wicked petsmart opened on the 5th) for my fry (Guppys and swordtails) and you can either donate them or get payed you choose, for each of my fish i was going to get a dollar and 20 cents per fish, not much seeing how much they sell em for.

What I do is I donate half and sell half, sometimes you can get a bit, I got one time 340 fry fish at 1.20 a peice, divided by two because I donate, so I made 181.00 bucks give or take a few bucks.
I always donate gotta help out your local stores!

They had to be at least an inch and a half...for these types

sometimes lfs will not take in fish that aren't from their wholesalers. as for the white and orange molly(maybe a lib, or a koi) first ask any of ur lfs f they will accept baby fry. then bring maybe one or two as stock quality. then if yes, bring the rest. a good size is a few months to 1-2 inch mollies.

Typically in my area they need to be at least an inch long, the larger they are the more credit they will offer you. And it is simply a matter of asking, asking, and asking...Best of luck, and fair warning, you will need another tank...Heidi:%)
