miracle fry!!! | |
fishyhelper288 Fish Guru Posts: 2161 Kudos: 1951 Votes: 137 Registered: 29-Feb-2004 | well, i was cleaning out my stock tank and it haddent had the filter running on it for quite a while, but i haddnet bothered to dump the water from the filter, so i think it may have been a month or so, maybe a week more and today i decided to take the gravel out and get the fish ready to be sold into the tank... i thought about having the filter clean up the mess be thought, "no, i taking all the water out anyway, no need to waste a filter pad" so, im starting to dump out the water, then i think, hmm it would be kinda funny if there was a "wait what just fell into my hand?" yup u guessed it a fairly large guppy fry i think he fed off of the planaria, and the left over food, but he was dark like dark brown, while all my other fry are like white in comparison, what a lucky fry |

In my livebearer tanks when I'm expecting fry, I always watch the filters to make sure there isn't any I'm throwing away. The filter is a pretty good place for them to grow temperarorly. They are getting a lot of food PLUS they are away from the dangers of other fish eating them. ~Jorge |

fishyhelper288 Fish Guru Posts: 2161 Kudos: 1951 Votes: 137 Registered: 29-Feb-2004 | i also found a dried out platty fry a not so lucky one, and it looked quite young, so.... btu i put him/her into my fry tank, and he picked out one of my other guppy fry, around the same size and not he follows the other fry everywhere, this proves theat guppies need friends!! and he has lightned up a little, but is still darker than the others |
