Not long after I added another female, who I posted a picture of today [link=http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Photo%20Booth/52891.html?200501121211 Very nice fish, friendly...neither female looked like a livebearer about to give birth so I assumed I had at least another week or more. So it was a big surprise when I checked the tank after getting up this evening and found babies! Mr/dad was rummaging thru the hornwort looking for a 'snack' so I netted at least 6 of them to safety. I'm so excited! Other than my Endler's I've only managed to grow-out 1 guppy fry and 2 platies. edit: they are just a few hours old, the youngest I've caught...is it normal for them to not be very active? A few months ago one of my platies had some little ones when I was gone for the weekend and I thought that they got all eaten up. Then a few weeks latter there was this little squirt swimming around. I can't believe he made it. Of course his name is Lucky. |

The guy at Petsmart told her it would be just fine (I didn't like it and still don't. too hard to plant stuff, too hard to mow it). Anyways I put some mollies in it about 3 weeks later, after cycling it and they kept the rasboras company. Well about three days later there were molly fry everywhere. I was worried they'd get munched up by the harleys and Bruno ( blue darf gourami who seemed to be hangin out near her birthin sopt), but as soon as they came out they disappeared into the rocks. I soon got them their own tank and was kicking them out of the rocks for the next six weeks during gravel vaccing. btw, they come out folded in half and sometimes take a few hours to straighten out and swim right Last edited by divertran at 13-Jan-2005 01:09 |
