today while I was looking at my fish and I noticed my platy had a redding on its gills. Does anyone know what this might be?

redding could mean parasites...but that depends..my fish gills r somewhat red..they been like that ever since...but i dont have problem with them.

so..if u could post a pic...we can at least determine what it is.

bingy,

Did you test your water parameters recently? You know, like Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate. And maybe even ph.

What tank is it (size)? What other fish are in there? Do they show any signs? Does your platy behave different then normal?

bingy,

Just as a thought:

I think it would be a good idea to keep a strongly related topic within one thread instead of creating multiple ones.

I understand your motivation to have a Nitrate question in the water quality forum, but just imagine the hustle that someone has to go through when attempting to give you an appropriate answer. First the person has to check if you raised the question somewhere else as well, then the person has to decide which answer was given last, and then post a respective reply. That is a lot of work and people will not want to go through that for a long time.

EDIT:
my topic betta a good community fish or something like that will tell you what fish are in there

Also, I believe you would get more answers if you would not force people to search in other forums for information regarding your questions here. It is much easier to keep a train of thought when the reader is able to have all info in front of them.

In addition, let’s assume someone else has a similar issue. They would never be able to read through a particular thread to get the whole picture of what was going on.

Again, that is just my opinion,

Ingo
